Airbus SAS, the world’s biggest maker of commercial aircraft, said it will meet or exceed a target of delivering 20 A380 superjumbos in 2010, denying a report in La Lettre de L’Expansion.

Airbus has handed over 13 of the double-decker airliner this year, including six in July and August, said Stefan Schaffrath, a spokesman at the planemaker’s Toulouse, France headquarters. First planes for Korean Air Lines Co. and China Southern Airlines Co. are already on the final assembly line and will be delivered next year, he said in a phone interview.

“We’re at a delivery pace of two A380s a month on average,” Schaffrath said. “Production is well-stabilized and we’re seeing a record level of quality.”

Customers received a total 10 A380s in 2009, the model’s second full year of commercial production. Paris-based newsletter La Lettre de L’Expansion, without citing anyone, reported today that Airbus will deliver 16 or 17 of the plane this year.
