AN airline has apologised for booting an 18-year-old passenger off his flight.
Timothy White was attempting to fly on Southwest Airlines from Chicago to Minnesota, US, last week when the incident occurred, CNN reported.
The 18-year-old said the airline kicked him off the flight for being too big. He was told he'd have to buy another ticket as he was spilling into the seat next to him.
He said he did not have enough money for a second ticket so was forced off the plane.
"That's crazy to me because there was only 60 people on the flight, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't taking up anybody else's space," he said.
"Let me sit at least by myself."
The airline has apologised over the incident and given Mr White credit for another flight.
He said it was the first time he'd been on a plane.
