Virgin Blue says it won't reduce flights between Australia and America as it tries to convince US regulators to support its planned alliance with Delta Air Lines.
Virgin Blue and Delta say they've 'signed an agreement' which guarantees they won't reduce non-stop services between Australia and the US.
The US regulator rejected their planned alliance in September.
It claimed travellers wouldn't benefit from the tie-up through lower fares or more flights.
It said the deal would only improve the two airlines' market share on the route.
Virgin Blue's long-haul offshoot, V Australia, has a 15 per cent share of the trans-Pacific market and Delta has around seven per cent.
The rest is shared between Qantas and United Airlines.
