Cathay Pacific will buy six Boeing 777 wide-body aircraft for a catalogue price of nearly HK$12.5 billion. The carrier has already bought 12 of the planes, with delivery expected to start next year. Cathay says they will replace some of the 18 aircraft that are currently operating on long-haul routes to Europe and North America. Last week, the carrier announced the purchase of 30 new aircraft from Airbus at a cost of HK$61 billion.
